Von whomper an Olix

Hi,

I am interested in a board set and components is that is still an option. I tried to find some info on what is included in components so would appreciate if you let me know what's included in case I can get in.

Many thanks for making this happen!

Thanks, Erez

Hello Erez,

Where exactly do you live?

I'm asking because I only send the kits within the European Union (Schengen area). Shipping overseas is far too expensive and involves too much effort for me, as I don't want to fill out any customs forms.

Hallo, although I live outside of Germany, I can have it sent to my family in Munich or, if you are ok with it, wait till I'm traveling to Spain in September to ship it there. Also, I should be in Berlin October/November for another options as well.

All naturally if you are ok to hold it a little longer for me. I will pay in advance of course.

Anyway that works for you, we can have an EU shipping address.

Thanks! Erez

Hello again,

A shipping address in Munich/Germany would be perfect. That would be my first choice and also the cheapest way.

I don't have much time at the moment, but I will send you more information this evening or tomorrow.

Hello,

We have had a post here in the forum about collective ordering for some time:

https://abbuc.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2989

However, this is certainly a bit confusing for newcomers and of course everything is in German. For this reason, here is a summary:

First of all, the costs:

1 Platinen Satz 12,50 € 1 Bauteile-Kit 66,00 € 1 Porto 5,50 €* 1 Verpackung 4,00 €

Summe: 88,00 €

  • Shipping by insured DHL parcel within Germany

The price for the kit could only be so low because we ordered the parts for 50 kits and I did the purchasing and central distribution on a voluntary basis in my spare time. Which was and is really a lot of work. Ordering all the parts individually would cost over 170 euros.

The components have already been ordered and delivered. The circuit boards are in production and will be ready next week. Delivery of the packages will start in the first week of July and may take until mid-July.

As I have pre-financed all parts privately (over 3500 Euro) I have to insist on prepayment by bank transfer. The parts set contains all normally available parts. And some parts from special sources. These include all sockets (power, DIN AV, MiniDIN AV, SIO, joystick ports and also the power switch. We even have a 3D print for the module slot in the kit.

If you want I can send you the complete BOM with all included parts.

NOT included are: All custom chips (SALLY, ANTIC, GTIA, POKEY, PIA, MMU, system quartz) and unfortunately also the 24-pin keyboard socket.

Do you have any questions?

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed info.

One question remains, for how much and from where can I purchase the remaining ICs (SALLY, ANTIC, GTIA, POKEY, PIA, MMU, system quartz)?

Thanks, Erez

Just found the post on missing IC. Sorry for not looking earlier.

Hallo,

Thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions.

I would like to order a kit. Please send me money transfer info.

Also, I am not able to burn ICs so will appreciate if you can also burn needed ones and let me know how much to transfer for this.

On Basic ROM, can it be burned with Assembler and not basic ? I'm programming via MAC65/DDT cartridge and would appreciate to have it burned if possible (although I'm not sure it will work as I think the OSS carts are 16KB and not 8KB, but you may know more).

Thanks, Erez

Hello,

a small request: Can you reply to the following mails as a classic e-mail? My e-mail address is 600xl@oriehle.de The mail system in this forum is not very good and I lose the overview otherwise. All direct questions about the collective order are sent to this e-mail address which I have created especially for this purpose.

Now to your questions:

No other language can be implemented in the BASIC-ROM, this could also lead to compatibility problems. What you can do is to use the Altirra BASIC (from the Altirra emulator) instead of ATARI Basic. But I have to tell you that neither the OS-EPROM nor the BASIC-EPROM are part of the component kit. For this reason I cannot burn them. However, you can also use the original Atari PROMS. You do not have to burn your own EPROM. But what I can program for you is the PIC for the video circuit and the GAL/PAL for the EMMU circuit.

To avoid further misunderstandings, I have attached the packing list with all the components that are included. 600XL-Advanced_Bauteile - Packliste.pdf

The list is in German, but that should no longer be a problem.

If you still want the board and the component kit, here is the cost breakdown:

1 PCB-Set* 12,50 € 1 Component-Kit 66,00 € 1 Packing and Shipping 9,50 €

Total: 88,00 €

  • The PCB Set consists of two parts: The Mainboard and a small adapterboard fpr the Mini-DIN AV Connector

You can send me the money via PayPal to: paypal@oriehle.de - https://paypal.me/oliverriehle1 But please, use the "family and friends" option.

Will you be using the board as an NTSC or PAL device? I'm asking because two different crystals are used for this.

The only one shop i know worldwide is https://www.best-electronics-ca.com/

But this website is very "special" and it is not easy to order there. So, the best way is to use an old original 600 XL for the missing parts. You'll also need a case and the keyboard, so you'll need an old 600XL as a dispenser anyway.

Unfortunately, I can't promise anything yet, but I have now put you on my list. Actually, all the kits are spoken for, but I've built in a small buffer.

In the first and second week of July I will send out the PCBs and component kits. Then I'll know exactly what I have left. Then I'll get in touch with you.

Can you please send me an e-mail with your address and your nickname to:

600xl@oriehle.de.

Otherwise I will lose the overview.
